Using concrete, cement and grout, I have used my long-standing preference for geometrics and clean design with my family history to create jewelry. For years, the simplicity of mid-century modern and Scandinavian design has been of great interest across the board — interior design, clothing, glasses, furniture, kitchen appliances (essentially, you name it!). Therefore, by combining geometrics and design interests, I have created a line of jewelry exemplifying all. I thoroughly enjoy the multitude of processes in jewelry design, starting from pouring concrete to selecting metals to creating pieces; I hope you enjoy the products.

history

Martin Masonry Design is the combination of family history in masonry and personal history in jewelry design. In 1954 Robert Martin, my grandfather, founded Robert Martin and Sons Masonry and focused on industrial projects. My father Jim Martin was raised in the business and just over 30 years after creation, he took it over from my grandfather and refocused the work on residential projects. In 2013, my hardworking father decided that retirement was appropriate and Martin Masonry closed its doors. However, two years later, I had the idea of continuing the Martin tradition, but with another twist like he did when he formed Martin Masonry. With honor and approval from my father, I created Martin Masonry Design, a business focused on concrete, cement and grout in jewelry design.
